8 great moves to stay active at your work desk

Staying active at your office desk can be a task especially when you are full on at work and have lots to get done. But let me share with you this to consider. How useful will you be to your task and job if you are tired, stressed and drained?

If you commit a small portion of your day to taking care of your health and wellbeing, the time at your work desk will be more proactive and productive. So today set a timer on your phone to go off every 30 minutes to GET MOVING!!! and complete 10 repetitions of each 6 exercises above. Increasing the amount of repetitions and rounds you complete each day. I swear to you if you can keep this up for three weeks consecutively, your strength, your fitness, your mentality, your focus and your motivation would have increased by 10. By week three you will probably find yourself signing up to a gym or online fitness program.

8 Easy Moves to do at your Desk

  1. Air Squats
  2. Walking on the spot
  3. Sitting on a Swiss ball at your desk
  4. Frog Squats
  5. Explodes
  6. Jack Press
  7. Hip Rolls
  8. Set a 30 minute time to move timer

When you consider the natural make up of your body, your legs, your arms, your hands, your feet, your hips. It was designed to move, to feel, to touch. We were not designed to stay stagnate for long periods of time. Moving our body in a small or large way gives our body life. Movement provides oxgen to our body, it releases built up tension from sitting for too long, it releases happy endorphins throughout that you can’t help but feel good about yourself.

Exercise is the number one best natural medicine in the world. The mental benefits have been shown to improve people anxiety, phobias, depression, coping mechanisms. When a person decides to change their life style and incorporates a little bit of movement a day, they instantly start to feel better about their day, about their life. They begin to see things clearly and are able to solve problems if they had any, or are able to look at their current situation from a different angle.
So why do some people struggle to exercise and others find it easy to exercise?

Purpose, What is Yours?

Purpose can be a major factor as this will feed the motivation and inspiration to push a person to take one step forward.

  • health reasons, their health physical has gone down hill and it is in major need of repair
  • role model, wanting to make a positive change for their children, grand children or someone who looks up to them
  • relationships, to be able to build a better relationship with themselves and or others
  • confidence, wanting to feel good about themselves
  • bucket list, something they have been wanting to do for such a long time they have finally decided to work through

The purpose for someone could be anything, it could be a combination of all of the above and some. If the purpose is important and strong with intensions then it is most likely that they will follow through with it until the end.
